1. The short version
This website uses a small amount of browser storage: what's strictly necessary for the site to work, plus — only if you accept — first-party analytics and advertising cookies. If you choose Accept analytics & ads, we load the Meta (Facebook) Pixel so we can measure which parts of the page are working and show you Station ads on Facebook and Instagram after your visit (retargeting). If you choose Essentials only, none of that runs — no analytics, no Pixel, no ad tracking.
2. What we store
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| rangeConsent | localStorage · strictly necessary | Remembers the choice you made on the cookie banner so we don't ask again. | Until you clear it |
| rangePromo | sessionStorage · strictly necessary | Remembers that you already saw the one-time offer popup this visit, so it doesn't repeat. | This browser tab session |
| rangeSid | sessionStorage · analytics (consent only) | A random visit identifier (no name, no account, no fingerprint) so we can count a visit once instead of every scroll. | This browser tab session |
| _fbp (and related) | cookie · advertising (consent only) | Set by the Meta (Facebook) Pixel when you accept ads. Lets Meta recognise your browser so we can retarget you with Station ads on Facebook & Instagram. Set by Meta, not read by us directly. | Up to 90 days |
3. Analytics & advertising — what we actually collect
If you choose Accept analytics & ads, two things happen:
- First-party analytics. The site sends small events to Station's own analytics endpoint: page views, whether the intro film was watched to the end, button clicks (like "Book a call"), use of the on-page demos, and audit-form submissions. Events carry the random visit identifier above and never include your name, email, phone number, precise location, or anything you type into the demos.
- Advertising (Meta Pixel). The site loads the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which sets the _fbp cookie and sends Meta a signal that your browser visited — plus standard events like viewing the page, requesting an audit, or clicking a call-to-action. Meta uses this to build a retargeting audience so we can show you Station ads on Facebook and Instagram. We do not send Meta your name, email, or phone number from this page.
If you choose Essentials only, none of that runs — no analytics events and no Meta Pixel. The only thing recorded is a tally of the banner choice itself so we can measure consent rates.
4. Third parties
- Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) — only if you accept ads. The Meta Pixel shares the events above with Meta so we can retarget you with Station advertising. This is behavioral advertising; Meta's data policy governs what Meta does with it. You can turn this off at any time (see §5) or via your Meta ad preferences.
- Google Fonts — the site's typefaces load from Google's font servers. Your browser makes a standard web request to Google to fetch the font files; no cookie is set by us in that exchange. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.
5. Changing your mind
Your choice is stored in your own browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings (or use a private window) and the banner will ask again on your next visit. Choosing "Essentials only" stops all analytics events and the Meta Pixel from loading on your next visit; any Meta cookie already set is cleared when you clear this site's data, and you can also opt out of ad personalisation directly in your Meta ad preferences.
